Sharing oyster restoration outreach experiences and ideas

NORA is delighted to announce the newly formed NORA Outreach Group.

The group, chaired by Corina Peter at AWI, is starting a regular (bimonthly) webinar to exchange ongoing outreach experiences and lessons learned. We aim to share experiences and, where appropriate, develop and/or share outreach products. The meeting will be held online every two months on second to last Tuesday morning (10 am CET).

The first meeting will take place on Tuesday the 21st of April at 10 am (CET). If you are interested in receiving the meeting call in details please contact Corina (corina.peter@awi.de) or the Secretariat.

Topics of the first meeting will be:

  • Introduction of the new working group and outlook on possible activities (Philine zu Ermgassen)
  • Educational material planned for German Highschools (Corina Peter)
  • Outreach materials for primary schools in UK/ Ireland (Luke Helmer)
  • Public Engagement and communications chapter overview from the upcoming Native Oyster Network UK/ Ireland Restoration Handbook (Celine Gamble)

We are looking forward to sharing our enthusiasm and ideas for oyster outreach activities, and to hearing about your own experiences.
