NORA 4 Conference
4th – 6th May 2021
Middelburg, The Netherlands
The Native Oyster Restoration Alliance, the European network for the restoration of the native oyster Ostrea edulis, announces its 4th conference.
NORA 4 will take place as an in-person-conference in the Van der Valk Hotel (www.valkmiddelburg) in Middelburg, the Netherlands from 4th – 6th May 2021. The conference will be free of charge.
Within the spirit of the growing NORA community, the conference will provide opportunities for knowledge exchange, joint collaboration and discussions. The programme will include the following pre-conference activities: a PhD/student workshop and NORA working group meetings to take place on the morning of 4th May.
The in-person-conference will be mainly structured around plenary sessions.

- oyster production
- restoration pilot results
- management and legislation.
As in NORA 3 Online, new restoration projects, results from existing projects, as well as working group progress and open calls for collaboration will be included in the programme.
The conference will conclude on the afternoon of 6th May with an excursion to the shellfish centre Yerseke nearby.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is: 7th February 2021
Participation in the conference is free, but participants must cover their own expenses, e.g. for hotel accommodation, meals and travel. More information about hotel and travel options, e.g. a shuttle service from the train station to the venue, will be shared through this website in due course.
In addition, an excursion to Yerseke, the Dutch centre for oyster production and research, will be organized in the afternoon of 6th May.
