New NORA Working Group ´Scaling up oyster reef restoration” – First Meeting

Meeting Announcement

We are pleased to share with you an invitation to join the inaugural meeting of the previously announced new NORA working group: Scaling up oyster reef restoration. Meeting date: April 14th, 2026.

More information:

The Working Group has two broad aims:

  • to work with the community to progress towards larger scale restoration and to achieve reefs that are self-sustaining;
  • to inform and support the implementation of the EU Nature Restoration Regulation with regards to native oyster reef restoration.

There are many aspects associated with scaling-up: methods, management, monitoring, finance, regulations. And most of these are challenging.

The first task of the working group is therefore to collaboratively co-create the aims and tasks with participating working group members. The first working group session will be devoted to this.

The first meeting will take place online, on April 14, 10-12 CEST.

If you are interested to take part, please send a mail to hein.sas@noraeurope.eu and you will receive a Zoom link.
